Abstract

Cataracts are a condition in which the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, thereby obstructing light from entering the retina. Cataracts are a leading cause of blindness, and treatment is often surgical. Cataract surgery procedures can cause anxiety in patients, which is influenced by fear and uncertainty regarding the actions to be undertaken. This anxiety can impact the physical and psychological condition of the patient. One effort that can be made to reduce anxiety is through non-pharmacological intervention in the form of Al-Qur’an Murottal therapy. The purpose of this review article is to determine the effectiveness of Murottal Therapy intervention on anxiety in pre-cataract surgery patients. The articles identified in this literature review use PICOT data analysis, with P (research sample): people aged 50 years and older, and I (intervention): Murottal therapy.
